Learn more about a few members of our team. Meet GenV Project Officer Shakiba Akbari WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT GENV? I’m a Project Officer (CALD) working with GenV’s Cohort team. My role involves supporting and advocating for the CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) participants across GenV. As well as focusing on participant and community engagement, overseeing translation and interpreting activities, and assisting with participant recruitment. I am excited to contribute to GenV’s commitment to equity and inclusivity! WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF WORKING AT GENV? I adore the incredible culture within GenV! What I cherish the most is the beautiful synergy of diverse teams, each person contributing their unique skills and backgrounds with genuine respect and support for one another. It’s like a workplace dream come true, where you feel safe and supported, regardless of your background, specialty, or expertise. The emphasis on treating everyone equally is heartwarming, and I’m genuinely inspired by how each team member values inclusivity at the core of our efforts. Meet GenV Virtual Recruitment Coordinator Liz Gleeson WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT GENV? I oversee non face-to-face recruitment. I work with an amazing team who follow up families who were either missed in hospital or weren’t ready to make a decision in hospital, to make sure every family has the opportunity to join GenV. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF WORKING AT GENV? My favorite part is working with an inspiring, dedicated and diverse team who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families. And always having fun along the way! I work as a Senior Business Analyst at GenV and my role involves bridging the gap between our technical capabilities and the needs of our research teams. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF WORKING AT GENV? The most rewarding aspect of my tenure at GenV is the opportunity to immerse myself in a novel domain – healthcare research and collaboration with industry experts. This exposure ignites my creativity, inspiring the development of innovative problem-solving strategies while learning from the best brains within GenV.
