Can I change my mind?

Yes, you can change your mind about being in GenV at any time.

GenV is dedicated to making things as easy as possible for you. You can change your mind about being in GenV at any time, including after you have chosen to sign up.

If you don’t consent during your GenV visit in hospital, you can still join GenV later. However, GenV will be missing the information we collect soon after birth.

Even if you choose to join GenV, participants may withdraw access to and use of their information at any time, at any of three levels:

  • No further contact: Stops – future contact; Continues – using and linking data and samples
  • No further new data: Stops – future contact, data linkage; Continues – using existing data and samples
  • No further use of any data: Stops – future contact, data linkage, further release of existing data/samples; Continues – use of data in datasets released for analysis before withdrawal

When your child grows up (around age 14 to 18 years), they will have the opportunity to continue to take part as young adults.

Changing your level of involvement, withdrawing, or discussing your options with GenV is easy: Just contact us.
